About us

St Michael's CofE Junior School has extensive grounds which it works hard to use creatively but there there is very little shade on the large field and so in the heat of the summer, or during wet weather, the use of the field can be limited.  We would love to be able to provide shade and shelter so children can go out in all weathers – learning as they do so. Many of our children do not have ready access to open spaces – we need to facilitate this in school.

In the school, music has always been a passion but we have limited instruments and would love to be able to purchase class sets to enable our children to really be able to explore the different aspects of music – rhythm, pitch, timbre. We don’t want to limit the experiences of our children just to the traditional subjects – we want to provide them with a truly broad and balanced curriculum, to enable every child to shine.

These are just two examples of how we could use the funding that the Lottery could provide – there are so many more.  The most important thing for us as a school is that we want the children to be the best they can be – in any area that they choose. We want to create choice for our children, so that whatever they finally do in life it is because it is their choice, rather than because they had no choice. We therefore strive to create opportunities for them to experience things they otherwise would not – extra funding would enable us to provide so much more. Please help us to help the community of the future.

Thank you for your support and good luck!

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Steph Tyler
Headteacher
